Meanwhile, the Satsuma clan takes advantage of Sagara's absence to launch a violent assault, undermining all of the roshi captain's careful diplomatic plans. When the flames are extinguished and the ash settles, the Sagara's fire seems to go out with it. Perhaps through Kotetsu, Sagara can glimpse the future Japan and regain his hopeful outlook, even as his own path darkens...
